Sporterized Rifle, Built from a Gustloff Werke (bcd code) K98K Swedish Mauser, CAL: 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser), MFG: 1941 (action), SN: 2049, Bolt Action Rifle, 23 3/4'' stepdown barrel. WWII era rifle, with Nazi proof stampings. The upgraded cheeked & capped pistol grip Monte Carlo style maple wood stock is excellent, with slant cut rosewood forend tip & pistol grip cap. The stock also displays rosewood & ebony diamond inlays, & the stock is reminiscent of a Weatherby style, There are a few handling marks, scrapes & light contusion, as well as a larger gouge where the bolt occasionally hits the upper comb. The stock's finish & overall look is excellent. The current metal blue finish rates 85% overall, with the receiver finish toning plum. The barrel appears to be the original, with the original ramped front blade sight. The receiver carries a Tasco Fixed Reticule Internally adjustable 4-32 scope. Bore is excellent & bright. Stock carries a Pachmayr White-Line ventilated recoil pad. Sling loops. A nicely sporterized or custom military to hunter conversion. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
