O.F Mossberg & Sons Model 44 US, CAL: 22 LR, MFG: 1943-44, SN: None, Bolt Action Rifle, 26 1/4'' Round barrel. Rifles like these were U.S. target training rifle used by all branches of the military & often stamped U.S. Property. This rifle is not stamped U.S. Property. The factory flat knob & finger grooved pistol grip wood stock is very good, with several minor scratches, nicks & dings. The stock has been cut to a 10 1/2'' LOP & carries a serrated metal buttplate. Has a 1/2'' chip at the toe & a hole from sling stud removal. Has a plastic finger grooved grip. The original metal blue finish rates 70%, with speckling. Bore is excellent. The receiver carries the sight mount, but without the target sight, while the barrel has no rear sight provision & a ramped four flip-up blade option front sight. Sling swivel front provision.
