Marlin, Model: 56 ''Levermatic'', Cal: .22, MFG: 1955 (first year MFG), S/N: M2334, lever action rifle, 24'' barrel.
HISTORY: The first of the Marlin Levermatic rifles, it differs from the traditional lever action design & uses a cam & roller to make the action extremely smooth & have a short throw. Introduced in 1955, the first year of manufacture would include a steel receiver & were marked with S/N. Starting in 1956 the receiver switched to aluminum & stopped stamping them with S/N's to save on costs.
CONDITION: The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is excellent with only minor scuffs & dings from handling. Marlin bullseye in the belly of the stock. The blued metal finish rates 98% overall minimal wear & a couple small light scratches at thew muzzle. address marking on top of the barrel., S/N is stamped on the left front of the receiver. The bore is excellent. Bright & shiny with little to no visible wear. Barrel holds the factory beaded blade front sight with protective hood, & a U-notch leaf rear sight. The buttstock carries the factory checkered plastic Marlin buttplate. The rifle has no sling mounts. Mechanical function appears fine. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 500 to 800
