Updated Description 8/21/2025: RARE & EXCELLENT, Winchester, Model 21 Flat Side, CAL: 28 GA, MFG: early 1950's, SN: 27649, Break Action, Choke: IC/IC, 26'' barrels.
HISTORY: The Winchester Model 21 is widely viewed as one of the most elite American boxlock double guns ever produced. It was technically a production gun until 1960, but each Winchester Model 21 was custom-crafted. The Winchester Model 21 was developed to compete not only with luxury American shotguns offered by companies like A.H. Fox & Parker Brothers but to rival the English side by sides too. British sportsmen preferred lighter weight & lighter loads. The Model 21 was engineered for power & durability.
CONDITION: This gun has been fully & professionally restored. Typical markings on the barrel & the SN is marked on the upper tang, under the break lever. The stamping on the barrel is crisp, however the ''WINCHESTER'' stamp appears slightly off, most likely restamped. The checkered, capped pistol grip stock & beavertail forend are excellent, appears original. The wood grain pattern features beautiful feathering. The high gloss finish has full coverage, but there are vertical age crackling to the finish along the sides of the buttstock & on the tip of the forend, appears original. There are only a couple minor dings to the finish, otherwise excellent. The metal blue finish rates 98% on the barrel & 98% on the frame. Bores are excellent. The solid matted rib holds a red front bead. Checkered butt, no buttplate or recoil pad. Single selective trigger. LOP: 14 1/8'', DAH: 2'', DAC: 1 3/8'', Weight: 7.6lbs. Mechanically excellent. This is the perfect opportunity to add one of the most sought after Winchester shotguns to your collection. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 6000 to 12000
