Remington, Model 11 U.S Military, CAL: 12GA, MFG: 1943, SN: 700539, Semi Auto Shotgun, Choke: IC, 2 3/4'' chamber, 26 1/8'' barrel.
MARKINGS: The barrel is marked with the standard address/patent dates stamp, the caliber, chamber size, choke & barrel date code. The top of the barrel is marked ''U.S.'' next to a Flaming Bomb. The left side of the receiver is also marked with the same ''U.S.'' next to a Flaming Bomb & ''MILITARY FINISH''. The lower portion of the receiver is marked ''REMINGTON'' over the full SN. The bolt is marked ''MODEL 11''. The left side of the stock has two cartouches, one is the ''Cross Cannons'' proof, next to ''FJA'' for inspector Frank J. Atwood.
CONDITION: The original flat pistol grip stocks are very good & solid. There are several minor contusions, scrapes & scratches, on bothstock & forend, but mostly concentrated to the forend. The original low luster military blue rates 85% on the barrel & 75% on the receiver. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds an elevated bead front sight. The stock has a replace Remington serrated buttplate that's has some fit oversized issues. With almost 60,000 of all types of shotguns purchased by the military, the Remington guns don't have quite the same fame & reputation surrounding them as the more famous ''Trench Shotguns'', but they undeniably pulled their weight in a wide variety of roles during World War II. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
