Remington, M1917 Enfield, Cal: .30-06, MFG: May 1918, S/N: 224028, Bolt action rifle, 26'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is excellent, as being sanded & re-finished. Stock only has a couple minor nicks/dents around the belly of the stock. Bottom of the stock is marked with a faded eagle head inspectors cartouche. The inside of the rear upper handguard is stamped ''R''. This rifle was refurbished for WW2 & has a arsenal black parkerized finish on the receiver that rates 75% with spots of thinning. The barrel is green parkerized & rates 80% with some thinning, scratches, & spots toning brown at the muzzle. The left side of the receiver is marked with a US flaming bomb stamp, & upper edge has two faded eagle head inspectors marks. The receiver band is marked ''U.S.'', ''MODEL OF 1917'', ''REMINGTON'', & the S/N. The top end of the barrel is marked ''R'', US flaming bomb, ''4-18''. The top of the chamber is marked with four eagle head inspectors stamps, & a US flaming bomb stamp. Bottom of the chamber has proof test markings. bolt handle marked with a US flaming bomb & a worn ''G''. This rifle is a WW2 refurb & is a mix of parts. ''E'' (Eddystone) marked bolt, striker housing, safety, bolt release lever, rear sight block & buttplate. ''W'' (Winchester) marked trigger, ''R'' (Remington) marked front sight. The bore is very good. its bright with light roughness. The barrel holds a blade front sight with protective wings. The rear of the receiver holds a flip up ladder aperture rear sight with protective wings. The stock carries a steel trapdoor buttplate. buttplate is a mix of brown patina, roughness & spots worn gun metal gray. Nothing inside trapdoor. Rifle has both bottom sling loops.
