Updated Description 8/19/25: Remington, Model: Rolling Block saddle ring carbine, US commercial sale, Cal: .50-70, MFG: 1870s-80s., S/N: 150 (under barrel), single shot breech loading rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel.
CONDITION: The two-piece straight wrist wood stock is good with some cracks & wood chips on the left side of the forend, couple more small cracks on the bottom of the wrist & the heel of the buttstock. Stock has nicks, dings, dents, & wear from use/age. The metal has toned to a chocolate brown patina with speckled rust. The receiver tang is marked with the ''E. Remington & Sons'' three line address, marking is worn & only partially visible/legible. The bottom left edge of the receiver is marked ''9.96 .10 .900'', marking is faded. The bottom of the barrel, under the forearm is marked with the S/N. The bore is good. Its bright with some roughness. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a L-leaf flip up V-notch rear sight. The stock carries a steel buttplate, toned brown with roughness. Rifle has a left side receiver mounted saddle ring, as well as a set of sling swivels on the left side. Classic Rolling block carbine that was sold on the commercial market in the US.
