Izhevsk (Inter Ordnance import), M44 Mosin, Cal: 7.62x54mmR, MFG: 1945, S/N: IOA-3017 (Original Russian KP3017), Bolt action rifle, 20'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with some small nicks, dings, & scratches from use. Stock has been lightly sanded & oiled. Large crack on both sides of toe, has a arsenal repair with two wooden dowel reinforcements through the bottom of the stock. one faint triangle cartouche on bottom of wrist. The right cheek of stock stamped ''1.TRZ''. The metal has a arsenal re-finish. The blued metal finish rates 98% overall with minor thinning from wear. The barrel shank is marked with a hammer & sickle in wheat wreath stamp, ''1945r', the original Russian S/N, arrow in triangle, & many other proof marks. Some markings are faded from re-finish. More small proofs on other metal parts. S/N matching bolt (possible force match), forced matched buttplate, & mismatched magazine floorplate. Action still has some Cosmoline (grease) from when the Russians put it in storage. The bore is excellent. Bright & shiny with little visible wear. The rifling has not been counter bored. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe. The rear sight is a tangent U-notch marked 1 to 10. The stock carries a blued buttplate. Buttplate some roughness under finish from being re-blued. The stock has both sling wells for use with leather ''dog collars''. Affixed folding cruciform bayonet.
