Deutsche Waffen-Und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), M1891 Argentino Mauser, Cal: 7.65x53mm Mauser, MFG: Late 1899, S/N: T 6665, Bolt action rifle, 29'' barrel. The straight wrist walnut stock is very good with minor nicks & dings from use/age. More small gouges ate the toe & light oil staining around the buttplate & rear sling base. A Mismatched S/N (K0050) is stamped into the right flat of the stock just in front of the magazine. Slightly worn acceptance roundel cartouches on right cheek of stock. There is one star over ''RA'' in a circle cartouche on the upper handguard, two more smaller cartouches on the bottom of the wrist, three ''AG'' in shield cartouches on the belly of the stock in front of the rear sling base, & another star over ''RA'' in a circle cartouche by the toe. The blued metal finish rates 90% on the barrel with spots of wear/thinning, & 25% on the receiver, mostly worn gun metal gray with blue in protected areas. The top of the receiver band has the faint remnants of the Argentine coat of arms. The left side of the receiver is marked with two proof stamps, ''MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891'', ''DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND'', ''MUNITIONSFABRIKEN.'', ''BERLIN''. The right side of the receiver band is stamped with the S/N. The barrel shank is marked with two proof stamps & the S/N ''M8250''. Other metal parts have small proofs. S/N mismatched bolt, barrel & magazine. The bolt has grind marks & is stiff when cycling, rifle should be looked at by a gunsmith before firing. The bore is excellent near MINT. Bright & mirrorlike with no visible wear. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a flip-up ladder, V-notch rear sight marked 4 to 20. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate has wear, brown patina, & roughness/pitting scars under the finish. Rifle has both bottom sling loops. Rifle has no cleaning rod. Most Argentine Mauser have the crests ground off because it was a legal requirement to export them when the majority of them were imported. This requirement was gotten rid of later but since they imported the rifles in better condition first the ones in worse condition usually have them, & there are far fewer of them. With the problems with the bolt on this rifle it should be inspected by a gunsmith before firing, & is being SOLD AS IS with NO RETURNS ACCEPTED. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
