Updated 8/6/25: Colt, 1878, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1885, SN: 13880, Double Action Revolver, 5 3/8'' barrel. Checkered synthetic grips are in excellent condition. The nickel finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder is excellent with some wear, there is some exposed gun metal grey in high wear areas like the trigger guard, grip, and the bottom of the barrel. The original bluing on the hammer, trigger, and screws is still present on some of the low wear areas such as the backs of the hammer and trigger and some of the screws. The front of the trigger and top of the hammer have worn to an even brown patina. Markings on the top of the barrel read ''Colts PTFA MFG Co Hartford CT USA Depot 14 Pall Mall London'' indicating that it was made in the US and imported to the UK. The cylinder is marked with ''V'' and ''GP'' proof marks. The left side of the trigger guard is marked 45 CAL. Bore is very good, rifling is very bright with very minor even roughness. Mechanically solid with very little side to side play in the cylinder. Front blade sight integral to the barrel, rear sight trough is cut into the top of the frame. This revolver is unusual in the sense that it is chambered in .45 Colt, and not .455, which most of these were produced in. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
