Smith & Wesson, .455 MK II Hand Ejector Second Model, CAL: 45 ACP MFG: 1915-17. SN: 71652, Double Action Revolver. 6 1/2'' barrel. The wood grips are very good with some handling wear & small contusions. There is a coin embedded in the left grip panel. The blued finish on the frame rates 78% with handling wear & patina. The sides & top of the frame are where most of the original blue is concentrated with high wear areas, such as the front & back straps of the grip & the trigger guard, being worn to a mix of gun metal grey, original blue, & brown patina. The barrel & cylinder has worn & toned to mostly gun metal grey with some original blue & patina. The gun has several proof marks indicating its use with the British military, there are proof marks on the bottom of the frame near the lanyard loop, on the rear of the left side of the frame near the top of the grip, & on the left side of the frame between the barrel & the cylinder Bore is very good thin bright rifling with even roughness & some light pitting. Mechanically solid, the cylinder has little side to side & back & forth play, the hammer & trigger mechanism functions well. Rudimentary sights, front blade sight is integral to the barrel, rear sight trough is cut into the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 900
