Smith & Wesson, Victory Model, CAL: 38 SPL MFG: 1942-45. SN: V289974, Double Action Revolver. 4'' barrel. The wood grips are very good with some handling wear & contusions. The parkerized finish is very good with almost full coverage, there is some wear and patina mostly concentrated high wear areas like the front and back strap of the grip. The top of the frame is marked with a US ordnance flaming bomb stamp and U.S. PROPERTY G.H.D.. The face of the cylinder is marked with an S and a V. Bore is excellent, slightly thinned but very bright rifling with little to no roughness. Mechanically solid, the cylinder has little side to side & back & forth play, the hammer & trigger mechanism functions well. Rudimentary sights, front blade sight is integral to the barrel, rear sight trough is cut into the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 900
