Smith & Wesson, Pre-Model 10, CAL: 38 SPL. MFG: 1948-51. SN: C177927, Double Action Revolver. 4'' barrel. The checkered wood grips with S&W medallion are excellent with very light edge chipping. The factory blued finish rates 99% with very light handling & holster wear. The case hardening on the trigger & hammer is excellent. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent, the cylinder has hardly any side to side & back & forth play, the hammer & trigger mechanism functions very well, & the cylinder lock up when the hammer is cocked is incredibly tight. Rudimentary sights, front blade sight is integral to the barrel, rear sight trough is cut into the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
