FANTASTIC BOXED Smith & Wesson, Post War Pre Model 17 K- 22 Masterpiece Third Model, CAL: 22 LR. MFG: 1946. SN: K216, Double Action Revolver. 6 barrel.
HISTORY: The Third Model K-22 started production at serial number K101 in 1946. In 1948 they went to a four line address on the frame; this does not have a four line address. According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson the serial number range of K101-K614 had a 1946 year of production. This was one of the first 120 Third Model K-22s made, maybe earlier but there is no way of knowing for sure due to the K models sharing a serial number range.
CONDITION: The factory checkered wood grips with S&W medallions are in excellent condition. The factory blued finish rates 99% with very light wear. The case hardening on the hammer and trigger is excellent with the trigger being slightly faded but the hammer being vibrant and crisp. Bore is excellent. Mechanically very solid, the cylinder has very little side to side & back & forth play. Blacked out target sights, serrated front ramp sight is integral to the barrel, windage and elevation adjustable rear sight is screwed to the top of the frame.
