Description

Unknown Maker (British), Transition Revolver (Probably a Converted Pepperbox), CAL: 38 Cap and Ball, MFG: Circa 1820-60. SN: 957, Double/Single Action Percussion Revolver, 5 1/4'' barrel. The checkered wood grips are in fair condition, they have darkened substantially and have a large chip out of the corner of the right grip. The grips look good but have substantial cracks on the inside that jeopardize their structural integrity. The finish has worn and toned to a thin brown patina over gun metal grey. There are scroll engravings all around the gun that are intact and beautiful. Bore is poor, the rifling is defined but thin and dark with substantial roughness and pitting. Mechanically solid, seems to function well, the cylinder does have some play. Front bead sight is threaded into the barrel. Antique, no FFL Req - Value: 600 to 1200
