Nock, London, Model: Top-Hat, screw barrel pocket pistol, Cal: .45, MFG: Circa 1820-40's, S/N: None, Percussion pistol, 1 1/8'' barrel.
HISTORY: Henry Nock was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period. Best known as a gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Nock made expensive pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was an appointed gunmaker to the King. Nock's business eventually became Wilkinson Sword
CONDITION: The checked one-piece walnut grip is very good with small nicks & dings from use/age. Grip has slightly darkened from hand oils. metal is proud to the wood on the tip of the lower tang. There is one small chip on the right flat where it meets with the frame. There is a crack on one of the inside support bridge of the grip. Blued metal diamond shaped medallion in back of grip. The metal has worn to a mix of gun metal gray & brown patina with thinned original blue remaining on the barrel, the trigger & protected spots of the frame. All sides of the frame, barrel, lower tang, hammer, & safety have ornamental engraving. The left & right side of the frame is marked ''NOCK'', ''LONDON'' respectively. bottom of the chamber has two worn British proofs. the bore is good. has some rust & roughness. Barrel holds no sight. Folding trigger, flipping nipple cover, & has a safety for the hammer in full-cock. Antique/Muzzleloader, No FFL Req - Value: 600 to 1200
