Remington Rand, M1911 A1, CAL: 45 ACP, MFG: 1943. SN: 1520923, Single Action Semi Auto, 5'' barrel. The checkered wood grips are in very good condition with some handling wear and a couple of chips. The arsenal re-parkerized finish is very good with some handling wear and light splotches of patina on the slide. The right side of the frame above the serial number is marked ''United States Property''. There is an Ordnance Department ''Cross Cannon's'' acceptance stamp on the right side of the frame under the slide near the hammer that is approximately half worn down. There is also an inspector's stamp under the slide stop/slide release on the left side of the grip that reads ''FJA'' (Frank J. Atwood). There are several other various proof marks around the gun. Bore is very good, strong but slightly darkened with light even roughness. Mechanically solid, the hammer and trigger mechanism seems to work, the slide has some play. M1911A1 iron sights, rear sight is set in a dovetail cut on the slide, front blade sight is integral to the barrel. Comes in a generic black hard plastic case with four magazines.
