Model 1840 Cavalry Sabre, Nicknamed ''OLD WRISTBREAKER''. Manufactured by Ames Mfg. Co in Gabotville, Mass in 1852. Inspector mark on ricasso ''ADK'' (Andrew D. King) & ''TWP'' (Thomas Warner?). Blade is 35 1/4'' x 3/8'' thick where it meets the handle. Blade condition is very good overall, no bends. There is minor tarnishing and a few small dings on the cutting edge, possibly combat damage. The handle is in good condition with the wire wrap mostly missing. Steel scabbard condition is very good. This blade retains the original leather handguard washer. Shown by appointment only. Grade: Very Good - Value: 2400 to 2800
