RARE!!, Hollifield ''DOTTER'', Model 1917 Combination rifle rod sub-target device, made by Hollifield Target Practice Rod Company of Middletown, New York. Kit comes in the original rare wood case, with instructions & paper labels which were glued to the case, both rods, target block, & two sets of targets. Kit is missing some minor parts. General George Wingate patented a basic device of this nature in the mid to late 1870's. The design was modified several times over the years, no doubt due both to improvements necessary & to permit use in various rifles, & finally ended production in the hands of the Hollifield company in 1927. Grade: Excellent - Value: 100 to 300
