Winchester Model 1873, 3rd Variation, 38 WCF CAL., MFG: 1887, SN: 249034B, Lever Action Rifle, Rare Special order 24 1/4'' 1/2 Octagon 1/2 Round barrel, Full Mag. The original wood stocks are excellent. The stocks have several minor scratches, scrapes & contusions to the very nice original finish. The original metal blue finish rates 40% on the barrel & mag. 30% on the receiver, with the balance worn gun metal gray. Some very muted case-colors remain on the case-hardened lever & hammer. Bore is very good, with spots of cleaned roughness amongst very strong rifling. The receiver is fitted with a Lyman flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries the original adjustable rear & silver pinched blade front sights. Buttstock carries a sliding trapdoor crescent metal buttplate. Plain trigger. A sharp presenting original special order antique 1873 rifle. Antique, NO FFL Req. - Value: 3500 to 4500
