J. Stevens A. & T. Co., Model No. 44, Cal: 25-20, MFG: 1894 - 1933, SN: 33240, Single Shot Rolling Block, 26'' Octagon to round barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good, with minor scratches, scrapes & contusions the orginal finish. There is a 2'' crack on the right side of the forend/ The top of barrel is stamped ''J. STEVENS ARMS. & TOOL. CO. CHICOPEE FALLS.MASS. U.S.A. PAT. APR.17 94.'', while the left side is stamped ''25.20''. The SN is stamped on both the lower tang & the barrel. The original metal blue finish to the barrel rates 80%. The case-colored receiver has toned to a brown patina, with muted case-colors. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & Rocky Mountain front sights. Bore is fair, with roughness amongst thinning rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. A nice original example of a Stevens 44 rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
