Customized Rifle, Built from a U.S. Springfield 1903 Action, CAL: 308 Norma Mag, MFG:1918 (action), SN: 855964, Bolt Action Rifle, 22 1/4'' Round barrel. The custom cheeked, checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock is very good, with lots of minor scrapes, scratches & scuffs to the thinning with use finish. Slanted ebony forend tip & pistol grip cap, with diamond shaped inlay in cap . The metal blue finish rates 70% overall. Speckling on the floorplate & trigger guard. The receiver carries a Kollmorgen Optical Bear Cub 2 3/4X scope on Redfield mounts, with no open sight provisions on the barrel. The bolt handle has been modified to a more sporterized angle. Bore is excellent. Stock carries a Herters Grand-luxe Olympic Model ventilated recoil pad. Sling studs. Trigger shoe. A nicely sporterized or customized military to hunter conversion.
