Sporterized Rifle, Built from an Eddystone U.S. Springfield 1917 Action, CAL: 30-06, MFG:1917 (action), SN: 477872, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel. The Bishop cheeked, checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock is good, with several minor scrapes, scratches & contusions to the wood & finish. The right side of the stock displays a carved buck deer. The plastic forend cap is missing. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rating 60%, while the receiver & floorplate appear to display a mix of original & added finishes toning brown. The original SN matching barrel has the front sight removed, while the receiver carries a Weaver K2.5 scope on Redfield mounts. The receiver & barrel carry U.S. & British stampings & proofs, as this rifle was originally part of the U.S. Military's ''Loan Lease'' program to the British Government during WWI. Bore is very good. Stock carries a Bishop checkered plastic buttplate. Sling loops. A sporterized military to hunter conversion. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
