Remington, M1917 Enfield, Cal: .30-06, MFG: Nov. 1918, S/N: 557046, Bolt action rifle, 21 3/8'' barrel. The original semi-pistol grip walnut stock is excellent as being cut down, shaped, sanded & re-finished. Faint cartouche on the bottom of thew wrist. The metal has been slightly buffed & refinished with a black paint, leading to some thinned markings. The top of the receiver band is marked ''US'', over ''MODEL OF 1917'', over ''REMINGTON'', over the S/N. The left side of the receiver & the chamber has proof & inspectors marks. Winchester ''W'' marked bolt & Eddystone ''E'' marked rear sight. Bore is very good. It's bright with strong rifling & roughness. The barrel holds a after marked Lyman beaded blade front sight with the factory, receiver mounted slip up ladder aperture rear sight marked 2 to 16. The stock carries the factory trapdoor steel buttplate. plate 2is worn gray with speckled brown patina, nothing inside trapdoor. Rifle has the factory rear sling loop, with a hole in the forend where the after marked sling stud was. Mechanical function appears solid. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 200 to 400
