Remington, Model 14, .30 REM Cal., MFG. 1917, SN: 54148, Pump Auction Rifle, 22'' Round barrel, The rifle has been rechambered to 30 Rem, with the caliber marking being altered & displaying a ''30'' punch dot marking. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is fair & still solid, despite 8, 1'' to 2'' glued stress cracks at the wrist at the receiver or lower tang. Unfortunately, these stress cracks are very common to this model. The forend also has a few 1'' to 2.5'' stress cracks & a small wood chip. There are numerous minor to small scratches, gouges & contusions, with much of the original finish has worn away. The metal carries a reblue, with 80% coverage on the barrel, 60% on the receiver & mag tube, with some abrasions & cleaned pitting under the blue. The original mag tube has been replaced with a non-twist Remington Model 14 1/2 mag tube. Top of the receiver has two screw filled holes from previous optic mounting. The barrel carries a replaced adjustable rear sight & a King brass bead blade front sight. Bore is very good, bright & clean. The stock carries a fairly rare Remington reverse tear drop metal buttplate, which is a bit misfitting. Jeweled bolt. An early Remington pump shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
