Remington, Model 8 ''C'' Grade (Deluxe), marked .35 Rem Cal., MFG: 1923, SN: 49092, Semi-auto take-down rifle, 22'' barrel, The original deluxe checkered & flat knob pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, as having been professionally refinished. They display hand checkering cut at 20 lines per inch, with the checkering likely retraced on the forend. This is a later production rifle & as a ''C'' grade, the stock still carries the cheeks at the wrist of the early production rifles. There are a few minor handling marks or contusions to the finish. The stock displays beautiful rippled grain, with the overall wood appearance being excellent. The original metal blue finish rates 70% on the barrel & receiver sides. The blue is toning to a thinning brown patina on the mag & lower tang, with coverage remaining at 30%. The receiver carries a Lyman tang sight, while the barrel carries a Lyman folding rear sight & standard front sight. Bore is excellent, clean & bright. Stock carries the popular serrated lower tang crescent metal buttplate. 4rd fixed magazine. Tight action. A rare ''C'' grade deluxe rifle, with an excellent overall appearance & high collectability.
