Remington, Model 8, 32 REM CAL, MFG. 1907, SN: 2735, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. This is a 2nd year early production rifle. The original straight grip stock is very good & solid, despite a couple of short stress cracks emanating from the end of the upper tang. Nearly all of the original finish has evenly worn off from use & there are minor handling marks, light scratches & contusions. The stock displays the early wrist cheeks where the stock meets the back edge of the receiver. The forend is good & solid as well, despite a couple of 2'' & 2 1/2'' cracks on the backend & some missing slivers of wood to the edge & left side corner. The finish has worn thin & there are numerous minor scratches, scrapes & contusions. The original metal blue finish has worn mostly gun metal gray, but with spotty remnants of blue in more protected areas. There is speckling & spots of cleaned pitting, found mostly on the receiver. The rifle carries the early first variation safety lever. The rifle once carried a tang sight, but currently only has a replaced filler screw in the factory provision. The barrel is fitted with an adjustable rear sight & a Marble No. 2 white bead front sight. Bore is excellent. Stock carries a modern reproduction, checkered Remington buttplate, which is a bit undersized, leaving the wood proud along the edges. 5 rd fixed magazine.
