Remington, Model 8, .35 Rem Cal, MFG. 1926, SN: 51989, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. The original straight grip & schnabel forend stocks are very good, with the stock having been lightly sanded & refinished some time ago. The current finish is well worn & there are several minor to small scratches, scrapes & contusions to the wood & finish. The forend also displays a hairline crack at the left edge & a small missing chip at the right rear corner. The stocks have several longer thin scratches which almost appear to be hairline cracks, but are simply scratches. The original metal blue finish has about 50% coverage on the barrel & 30% on the receiver, of a thinned finish toning gray/brown. There is some speckling & cleaned pitting to areas of the metal. The barrel shroud has a raised ring crease 4 1/2'' from muzzle. Bore is very good, bright & clean. The receiver previously held a tang sight, but currently has only a replacement filler screw in the provision. The barrel carries a standard adjustable rear sight & a Marble No. 6 ivory bead front sight. The stock carries a smooth bottom tang, crescent metal buttplate, which has lots of rust pitting. 4 round fixed magazine, with light contusions. The action occasionally gets stuck in the rear & need to be fiddled with to release bolt. Some cleaning or adjustment likely need to have it function properly consistently. Likely a great shooter in the popular & still readily available 35 caliber. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 700
