VERY RARE Winchester, Model 677 (Scoped Rifle), .22 S. L. LR. Cal., MFG. 1937-39, SN: None, Bolt Action Rifle, 27'' Tapered barrel. Although the barrel is marked ''67'' it is a rare model 677 rifle, with no factory provisions for open sights. Winchester sold the British Government scoped Models 67, 677, 69 & 697 rifles, to be used as military training rifles. The Model 677 & 697 rifles were in .22 S.L.or LR. Or WRF Cal., with scopes & no provisions for open sights. The Model 67 & 69 stamped rifles were in .22 S.L.LR. Cal. & fitted with the same scopes, but also with open sights. This is one of the rare Model 677 British Government rifles, without open sight provisions & British proofs. Next to the British proofs is the ''NOTBRITISHMAKE'' stamping. It also exhibits the ''N'' stamping on the barrel & Broad Arrow marking on the top of barrel & on the right side of the stock. The original pistol grip & early rare finger grooved forend wood stock is excellent & solid. It displays the majority of the original finish, with minor to small scratches, scuffs & contusions. The metal blue finish on the barrel & receiver is retained at 95% coverage. Finish on trigger guard rates 85% with edge wear toning to a brown patina. Bore is excellent & bright. Rifle is factory fitted with a Winchester scope on Winchester scope rings & blocks. The scope does have minor finish scratches on the tube. Again, the barrel has no sight provisions, which is factory for this model 677. Nickel bolt handle & trigger. The ''Winchester'' marked buttplate is also excellent. Only 2,240 produced. A very rare rifle with collectible optics. Highly sought after & collectible! FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4500
