Rock Island Arsenal, M1903, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1918, S/N: 321462, Bolt action rifle, 24'' barrel.
CONDITION: The semi-pistol grip, Type C walnut stock is excellent as being sanded & re-finished. With only superficial nicks & scratches. The inside of the magazine cut-off lever cutout in the stock is stamped ''S''. The metal carries a arsenal refinish with some thinned markings & spots of roughness under the finish. The black parkerized finish rates 95% on the receiver & 90% on the barrel. The top of the receiver band is marked ''US'', over ''MODEL OF 1903'', over ''ROCKISLAND'', over ''ARSENAL'', over the S/N. The top end of the barrel is marked ''S A'' over flaming bomb, over ''3-37''. Bore is very good. It's bright with light roughness. The barrel holds a blade front sight with a flip up ladder U-notch/ aperture rear sight marked 3 to 27. The stock carries a replaces Western field rubber recoil pad. The stock carries the factory rear loops with a after marked swivel added to the middle band. The third stacking loop is present. Mechanical function appears solid. A nice shooters example of a WW1 made, & pre-WW2 refurbished M1903 Springfield. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 400 to 700
