Chinese Factory 26 (IA CO SAC Import), Type 56 SKS, Cal: 7.62x39mm, MFG: 1964, S/N: 9210842, Semi-auto rifle, 20 3/8'' barrel.
CONDITION: The semi-pistol grip wood stock is fair with the finish worn away & the wood toned dark from added oils over the years. Stock has numerus nicks, dings, dents, scratches & gouges that have been smoothed out from handling over time. There are two 3'' tight cracks around the semi-pistol grip emanating from the lower tang, one on each side. There is a 1 '' crack on the top left of the wrist, eliminating from the receiver. There are three small wood plug arsenal repairs on the stock, two on the buttstock, one on each cheek, & one on the left flat above the magazine. Right cheek of stock marked with three Chinese characters. The metal has mostly been worn to a gun metal gray with spots of thinned blue remaining on the stock line on the receiver, protected inner parts of the magazine, and other protected areas. There is spots of roughness, rust/patina dotted around the metal, there is some rust emanating from under the upper handguard. Left side of the receiver is marked ''26'' in a triangle, ''TYPE 56 CARBINE'' in Chinese, & the S/N. Both sides of the barrel near the end is marked with import stampings. S/N matching magazine, trigger guard, receiver cover, bolt, bolt carrier. The bore is excellent. It's bright & mirrorlike with little visible wear. Chrome lined bore. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe, Tangent U-notch rear sight with a ''n'' battle zero mark & 1 to 10 marks. Blued steel trapdoor buttplate. worn gray with patina speckling, nothing inside trapdoor. Rifle has the affixed folding cruciform bayonet (first year of the spike) & the cleaning rod. The bayonet spring/latch is worn & the blade droops past the channel in the stock. Rifle has both factory sling loops. Mechanical Function is not solid, the sear/trigger parts are worn, the trigger binds when pulled and does not function correctly, does appear to function correctly with a replaced trigger group from another Chinese SKS.
