UNIQUE SET, Colt, Model 1877 Lightning, CAL: 38 Long Colt, MFG: 1879, SN: 14889, DA/SA Revolver, 3 1/2'' barrel. The factory checkered hard rubber Colt grips are good & solid. The checkering has worn smooth on the majority of both grips with some intact checkering in protected areas of the grips. The rampant Colt logo has worn thin on both sides but is still visible. The right grip panel has a substantial crack but seems to be held together well. The metal holds what appears to be the factory nickeled finish, the finish is very good with some exposed gun metal grey where the nickel has flaked away. There is also some brown patina in areas where the nickel has flaked away. The ''Colt D.A. 38'' acid etched mark on the side of the slide is slightly worn but still visible & legible. The cylinder has ''LES CARROLL'' engraved on the side. The bore is good to very good, the rifling is strong being slightly darkened with light even roughness throughout. The gun has a u-notch rear sight & blade front sight. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The action seems to have the standard four clicks & worms in single action & double action. This revolver is accompanied by a 1915-1925 Montgomery Ward's Horse & Rider Holster & belt combo. The belt also holds a leather sheath with a knife that has ''GESETZLICH GESCHUTZT PRUSSIA'' marked on the blade. The knife holds a 6'' blade with wood grip panels pinned to the tang, the wood grips hold a crown medallion. The handle of the knife is in excellent condition with the knife being in good condition overall. Blade has worn from over sharpening & the metal is covered in brown patina. A unique set, with accoutrements. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2500 to 5000
