Colt, Model 1851 Navy, CAL: 36, MFG: 1855, SN: 43286, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel has a standard single line roll-stamp that reads ''ADDRESS SAM L COLT NEW YORK CITY''. ''COLTS PATENT'' is stamped on the left side of the frame, this stamp has begun to wear thin but is still fairly legible. No visible caliber marking. The Naval scene on the cylinder is worn thin but is still approximately 50% visible with the text on the cylinder being thinned & mostly legible with only one or two characters that are obscured. All matching SN on the barrel housing, frame, trigger guard, & backstrap. There is a nonmatching serial number on the barrel wedge that reads ''3588''. The wood grips are excellent, solid with minimal wear. The metal on the gun is mostly gun metal grey with a very thin splotchy brown patina throughout. The brass on the gun is very nice & slightly tarnished but would likely clean up nicely. Bore is poor to fair, the rifling is fairly strong but the bore has darkened substantially with even roughness & pitting throughout. Mechanically solid, seems to function properly. All four clicks seem to be present. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1200 to 2400
