Colt, M1877 D.A. ''Lightning'', CAL: 38 Long Colt, MFG: 1879, SN: 14916, DA/SA Revolver, 3 1/2'' Barrel. The checkered plastic birds head grips with Rampant Colt logos are very good, near excellent, solid with some handling wear. There are some small scratches & dings throughout, there is one large scratch on the right grip panel going from the bottom of the Colt logo to the edge of the grip near the trigger guard. The nickeled finish on the gun is fair, the finish has worn & flaked to a mix of gun metal gray & nickeled finish. There are some small splotches of brown patina throughout. There are few visible markings on the gun, there is a thinned two line patent roll stamp on the top of the barrel that remains visible & approximately half legible. The serial numbers on the frame & trigger guard are matching, the serial number on the backstrap is thinned substantially & is no longer legible but does appear to be matching based on what is remaining of the serial number. Bore is good, the rifling is strong, the bore has darkened with some roughness & light pitting concentrated pitting near the muzzle. Mechanically very solid, seems to function well. A fixed front sight is integral to the barrel, a rear sight notch is cut into the frame. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 900
