Colt, US Army Model 1909, CAL: 45 Long Colt, MFG: 1911, SN: 39423, DA/SA Revolver, 5 1/2'' Barrel. The wood grips are very good, near excellent, with some small dings & scratches throughout. There is light edge chipping on the bottom of each grip panel. The metal appears to hold an arsenal re-blued finish with speckled pitting & thinned markings underneath. The blue rates approximately 97% with some thinning, holster wear, & handling wear. There is some holster wear on the barrel. The front strap & backstrap of the grip have begun to tone to a brown patina. The barrel has a standard two line patent stamp on the top that is thinned but is still legible. ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'' is marked on the underside of the barrel & is legible, there are some proof marks next to that mark that are no longer legible. The right side of the barrel is marked ''COLT D.A. 45''. There is a Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the frame that is barely visible. The right side of the frame is marked with ''FB'' near the top of the cylinder, & ''R.A.C'' near the top of the grip. There is a ''K'' stamped on the inside of the cylinder crane & on the cylinder latch. A ''N'' is stamped on the inside of the frame near the cylinder crane. The butt of the grip is marked ''U.S. ARMY MODEL 1909'', ''No 39423'' is marked next to that, this denotes the serial number which is also marked on the cylinder crane & the frame. Bore is very good, the rifling has thinned & developed light shallow speckled pitting near the muzzle with the rear portion of the bore being bright with strong rifling. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. A fixed front sight is integral to the barrel, a rear sight notch is cut into the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1600
