Smith & Wesson, 44 Hand Ejector 2nd Model, CAL: 44 SPL, MFG: 1915-40, SN: 24481, DA/SA Revolver, 6 3/8'' Barrel. The factory checkered wood grips with S&W medallions are very good, near excellent with some handling wear & edge wear on the border surrounding the checkering. The metal holds the factory blued finish which retains approximately 40% originality. The blue has near total coverage. There is exposed gun metal grey is located in common wear areas such as: the barrel near the muzzle, the cylinder (drag line), the grip (front strap/backstrap), & on the edges. Some of the blue has worn thin & begun to tone to a brown patina. The factory markings are slightly thinned but still visible & legible. There is a flower electric penciled into the right side of the frame behind the cylinder. Bore is very good, the rifling is very slightly thinned & relatively bright with a couple of instances of very deep pitting that are spread out. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The barrel holds a fixed front sight, a rear sight notch is cut into the top of the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
