Smith & Wesson, Military & Police ''Pre-Model 10'', CAL: 38 SPL, MFG: 1945-47, SN: S823054, DA/SA Revolver, 5'' Barrel. The factory checkered wood grips with ''S&W'' Medallions are excellent with light edge wear & some small dings & scratches throughout. The factory blued finish on the gun rates approximately 85% with consistent use wear. There is a very defined drag line on the cylinder that has worn to gun metal gray. The blue on the barrel near the muzzle has thinned from holster wear. The front strap has some thinning & scratches from handling & the backstrap has toned almost entirely to a brown patina & thinned substantially. There are some small surface scratches throughout. All of the standard markings around the gun are visible & legible. Bore is excellent, bright with strong rifling. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The barrel holds a fixed front blade sight. A rear sight notch is cut into the top of the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 600
