Remington, M1861 ''New Model Army'' (1858), CAL: 46 RF, MFG: 1863-75, SN: 117847, SAO Cartridge Converted Cap & Ball Revolver, 7 7/8'' Barrel. The wood grips are excellent, solid with light wear. The barrel holds an applied brown finish that is thinned substantially. The frame holds a thin brown patina with shallow clean pitting & some original blue concentrated in protected areas. The cylinder has a layer of brown patina with shallow clean pitting throughout. The brass trigger guard has tarnishing & small shallow dings & scratches throughout. Bore is very good, near excellent, bright with strong rifling & sparsely speckled small clean pits. Mechanically poor, the cylinder is out of time with the action & the rear of the cylinder is badly damaged from the hammer. The barrel holds a fixed front sight, a rear sight notch is cut into the hammer. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 900
