Savage, Model 1899, marked 25-35 Cal., MFG: 1904, SN: 48122, Lever Action Rifle, 21 3/4'' Tapered round barrel. This rifle has been fully refinished. The straight grip wood stock & schnabel forend are excellent, as sanded & refinished with a high gloss finish. There are virtually no new blemishes, but the faint remains of old handling marks under the finish. There is a 4'' grain crack at the forend tip that was nicely repaired before the refinish. The metal has a high luster blue/black refinish, with 99% coverage. Rifle fitted with a flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries a single leaf folding rear & long blade front sights. Bore is dark from the reblue, but has grainy roughness amongst good rifling. The stock carries a replacement serrated plastic buttplate. Cocking indicator on bolt. Action is smooth & tight. Great overall restored appearance. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
