W.H. Davenport Fire Arms Co., CAL: 8 Ga, MFG: 1897-1910, S/N: 0307, Break Single, 35 3/4'' twisted steel barrel. The checkered round knob semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with small nicks, dings, scratches, & wear from use/age, lightly worn checkering at wrist & worn checking at forend. The metal on the barrel appears to have been polished & is a gun metal, twisted steel pattern still present on about half of the barrel. The metal on the receiver is a gun metal gray with small spots of brown/gray patina. Top of barrel is marked ''THE W.H.DAVENPORT FIRE ARMS CO. NORWICH CONN.U.S.A.'', ''PATENTED AUG.11.1896''. Bore is very good with light roughness. Barrel holds a bead front sight. Stock carries a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Lockup has a small amount of play. LOP: 14 1/8'', DAH: 2 1/2'', DAC: 2''. Twisted steel barrels are not safe to shoot smokeless loads or steel shot out of. FFL OR C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
