Rare Oversized Widgeon drake made by Mason Decoy Co., Detroit, MI, 1896-1924, Premiere grade, Back Bay Model, solid wood, C-1910, 17 3/4'' x 7'' x 8'', excellent repaint with minor wear, glass eyes, carved bill with nostrils & mandibles, a few tight age lines in the body, no cracks, this is Mason decoy you will not find in any of the mason books or literature, Mason made a small group of these huge decoys for one of the Back Bay Virginia Gun Clubs in the early 1900's. only a few are known to exist today, most Mason collectors have never seen one of these big birds and virtually 99% of Mason collectors do not have one, this is only the 3rd one I've seen in the last 15 years, any ''Back Bay'' model Mason is RARE and the Back Bay Model Widgeon is the rarest of them all. This is a terrific example with outstanding coloration and patina. Grade: Excellent - Value: 300 to 600

A.) If you signed up and asked us to bill your credit card & ship all items ASAP then that is what we will do. No further notice will be sent.
