W.H. Davenport Firearms Co., Model 1895 Shotgun, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1895, SN: 7079, Break Action Single Shot Shotgun, 29'' barrel. The top of the receiver is marked ''THE W.H. DAVENPORT FIREARMS CO. NORWICH CONN. U.S.A.'' ''Patented Oct. 2 1894'' ''MODEL 1895''. The original checkered & round pistol grip wood stocks are very good. There is a bit of looseness up & down at the wrist. There are several small scratches, scrapes & contusions to the original finish. The metal finish on the barrel has worn to a mix of gun metal gray & brown patina. The polished silver receiver is very good with some haze & age. Bore is fair, with small areas of rust pitting. Barrel holds a silver blade sight that appears to be an addition. Buttstock carries a checkered hard rubber buttplate. A unique antique break single shot. Antique - Value: 200 to 400
